*BODY AWARENESS – CASTING NOTICE/Beck Center* *BODY AWARENESS** by Annie Baker* *Directed by David Vegh* *About the Play:* It's Body Awareness Week on the campus of a small Vermont college and Phyllis, the organizer, and her partner, Joyce, are hosting a guest artist in their home. Frank, a famous photographer, settles in along with his portfolio of female nudes. Phyllis is disgusted by his work and finds it exploitative, but Joyce, intrigued, contemplates posing for him, threatening their relationship. Meanwhile, Joyce’s grown son Jared continues to deny his symptoms related to Asperger’s Syndrome. Tensions in the family rise, as Jared turns to Frank for sexual advice in this domestic comedy. Joyce’s partner. Highly rational, dyed-in-the-wool feminist. Psychology professor. *Joyce**:* Early to mid 50s. Phyllis’ partner. Curious and open-hearted. High School teacher. *Jared**:* early 20s, Joyce’s son. Hyper-intelligent, but can be volatile and blunt to the point of cruelty. May or may not have Aspergers Syndrome. *Frank**:* Late 50s – early 60s. Self-possessed. Defiantly un-P.C. Photographer of artistic nudes. *There are 1-2 Equity contracts available (Special Appearance Tier One) for this production. All actors 18 and over receive a stipend for their participation. *
