A Light in the Night (Dec 2-10) Directed by Margi Zitelli A World Premiere by Les and Elana Hunter Rehearsals begin by end of October Judith is frustrated because her family has moved to a new house. And what’s worse? They forgot the box with the family menorah and can’t even make latkes. When her parents go out to get oil and potatoes, she takes off on her bike to go to the old house and get the menorah herself. When she gets there, she finds that it has magically come to life, and that her help is needed to save Hanukkah, now, and in the time of the Maccabees. Will she have the courage to take on this quest? The play focuses on being brave and standing up for what is right. Judy – a young girl who misses her old house Lior – her older brother Mom Dad Antiochus (can be double-cast with Dad) Shammes (can be double-cast with Lior) Simeon and Jonathan (can be double-cast with Mom and Dad) Seleucid Warrior (can be double-cast with Mom) Rehearsals will be held at TCT (78th Street Studio) and Performances will be at the Mandel Jewish Community Center (JCC). This show is roughly 45 minutes long. Tech Week begins on November 25th, 2023. Performances will be Saturdays at 1pm and 4pm, Sundays at 3pm, December 2nd through 10th. Compensation: $400 To audition please submit a video that includes you retelling your favorite children’s story (under 5 minutes) and playing with an object outside of the object’s original state/purposes.
