Next book The City if Falling Angels by John Berendt Monday May 16 at 2 pm John Berendt, author of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, spent  eight years in Venice, where he  unexpectedly found himself embroiled in  unraveling  the mysterious  fire that  destroyed the  Fenice opera house in 1996.  The result is this book, which tells a tale full of atmosphere and surprise as the stories of the people and places he encounters come together to portray a world as " finely drawn as a still life painting" (from the book jacket).
