Sign your kids up for this FREE workshop at Talespinner Children's Theatre! Through this multi-faceted workshop, children ages 8 - 14 will learn the basic skills needed to be an on-camera interviewer! Then, they'll put their skills to the test. TCT Marketing Director Devon Turchan will call on his love of theatre and his education in broadcast journalism (find out more below) to teach children how to develop questions and engage an interview subject. Students will practice camera presence and speech clarity through a variety of TCT's acting warm-ups and exercises. After a day of preparation, this new troupe of interviewers will sit down with members of TCT's current production of "The Crocodile, The Cobra, & The Girl Down The Well," to put their new skills into action. These videos will then be used to help spread the word about that production! A pizza dinner will be provided. Students who attend the workshop will receive a free ticket to opening night of the show that evening. About Devon Turchan: Devon Turchan earned his B.S. from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism in 2011. While at School, he had the opportunity to work for radio and television news outlets in Athens and complete internships at WEWS in Cleveland as well as Channel One News and NBC’s Today Show in New York City. After school, Devon worked as a staff writer at The News-Herald, then as a marketing associate at The Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland. His passions are rooted in exploration in the form of traveling, tasting coffee, making visual art and, yes, performing!
