BALLET CLEVELAND YOUTH COMPANY OPEN AUDITION DATE - SUNDAY, MAY 15, 2016 The Dancers' Studio at Oberlin (TDSO) the official school of Ohio Dance Theatre is holding open auditions for all serious dancers for the BCYC 2016-17 season. Ballet is the focus of the youth company but dancers also perform in other styles. All Dancers ages 13-19 are welcome to audition regardless of studio affiliation. Dancers must pre-register by going to thedancersstudioatoberlin and fill out the audition form. AUDITION DATES AND TIMES Sunday, May 15 at 1:00-2:30 pm, Ages 13-19 Mandatory Parent Meeting 2:30pm AUDITION LOCATION The Dancers' Studio at Oberlin 3rd Floor Studio 39 South Main, Street Oberlin, OH 44074 Dancers should arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Dancers should bring pointe shoes. Ballet Cleveland Youth Company provides dancers with opportunities to share their talents through outreach performances, in-studio presentations and theater performances. Members of the Ballet Cleveland Youth Company rehearse on Saturday afternoons. Performance opportunities for the 2015-16 season included Spooktacular in Oberlin, excerpts from the Nutcracker at Stan Hywet Hall in Akron, the Nutcracker in Ambridge PA, ODT's Nutcracker at the Stocker Arts Center in Elyria, the All Ohio Dance Festival and more. Applicants do not have to be students of The Dancers' Studio but if selected, must request that their home studio sign off monthly to confirm that they are taking the required number of classes/week to perform with the youth company.
