Concrete Fruit-a staged reading- 2/29 at 7pm.
Concrete Fruit is a short play about a cop who is in an interracial marriage whose son gets killed by his partner. It explores the current civil rights debate/ American dilemma of the racial inequity of the police force, as well as about those brave enough to challenge the system. It is produced as apart of Ensemble Theatre's Content Of Character festival, commemorating the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech, along with their concurrent productions of "Slow Dance On The Killing Ground" and "Golden Leaf Ragtime Blues." Directed by Michael Oatman. Written by Tim Collingwood Emmett- LaShawn Conner Dan- Sean Seibert Carolyn- Arien Hodges Shirley- Tasheanna Martin James- John J.
