Auditions-The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
Coach House Theatre will hold auditions for it's holiday production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Saturday Nov. 3 from 2-5 pm and Sunday/Monday Nov 4-5 from 6-9 pm. Rehearsals will begin Wednesday November 7. Rehearsals will be Monday-Thursday from 7-10 pm, with a few Sunday rehearsals from 6-8 pm. Tech week Dec 2-Dec 6. Performances Dec 7-16, Fri-Sun with one Thurs performance Dec 13. All conflicts must be listed on audition form, conflicts during tech or performance dates will not be allowed. Children under 16 should prepare a favorite Holiday song or Christmas Carol. Adults and children should be prepared to cold read from the script. We encourage parents to audition with their children as there are many small adult roles in this production. Cast Breakdown: The Bradley Family Bob (the father)-30-40's, solid family man Grace (the mother)-30's-40's, gets roped into directing the Christmas Pageant Beth (the daughter)-11-15, the narrator of the play-must have good story telling ability Charlie (the younger brother)- 8-10, traditional kid brother type The Heardman's (the worst kids in the history of the world) Ralph-12-16, cool, raged, tough Imogene-11-15, bossy, loud, persuasive Leroy-9-12 tough and sure of himself Claude-8-11, tough and combative Ollie-7-10, Claude's partner in crime Gladys-6-8 tiny but fierce, "she's fast and she bites" The Kids Alice- 10-14 prim, proper, pain in the neck "always plays Mary in the pageant" Elmer Hopkins- 12-15 the Reverend's son. Always plays Joseph Maxine, Hobie, David, Beverly, Shirley, Juanita, Doris and others as needed-ages 6-16 to play Angels, Sheperds, Choir, Baby Angels etc The Adults Mrs. Armstrong-50-60's, take charge woman of the church, usually directs the pageant but breaks her leg and must step aside Reverend Hopkins-40-50's, strong but kind and caring Mrs. Slocum, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Clausing, Mrs. McCarthey-30-60's, typical church ladies. Gossipy, do NOT want to be saddled directing the pageant Firemen-very small walk on, can be covered by fathers of children cast in the show or tech/run crew members
