CASTING NOTICE Butler Entertainment Presents Spades By Randall E. Hall Directed by Myron J. Lewis Accepting Video Submissions until Saturday July 2, 2022 Dates of Production: August 5-7, 2022 Production Location: Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio Rehearsals and performances will be in person. Accepting submissions from all actors. If you do not know how to play Spades, you will be taught for the performance. Spades workshop is July 11-15, 2022. Rehearsals begin July 18, 2022 in Akron, Ohio. Actors should be available from 5:30 pm - 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday until the one (1) week prior of performance. Tech Week rehearsal will vary based on needs of the performance. We are looking for African American actors, both male and female, can play ages 22-60. Character Breakdown Narrator, male, Any age, has a deep voice, not seen on stage Nikki, female, 27, is a genius at spades Marcus, male, 25, plays spades pretty well Dwayne, male, 28, heavyset but handsome, Nikki's Fiance Alexis, female, 22, sucks at playing spades Michelle, female, 55, matriarch of the family, everyone knows she is the boss Robert, male, 54, patriarch of the family, Please upload a private video link of you performing a comedic monologue and answering the following questions: 1. All actors and staff must be fully vaccinated prior to the start of rehearsals.
