Holiday Double Feature
Avon Lake High School Drama Club brings two Festive Holiday Tales to life for the price of one! Not one, but two outstanding shows are in progress at Avon Lake High School that will bring with them the true essence of the holidays. Experience ALHS’s version of a cozy classic - Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and a heartfelt adaptation of Barbara Robinson’s The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. In Kevin P. Kern’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Ebenezer Scrooge is a cold-hearted miser, choosing to spend Christmas Eve alone instead of with his cheerful nephew, Fred. That night, he is visited by his old colleague, Jacob Marley, who explains that three ghosts will come. After seeing his Christmas Past, Present, and Future, Scrooge awakens with renewed faith. In his redemption, he embraces family and friends and gives generously, forever changed. This unique version incorporates singing narrators and traditional carols. In Barbara Robinson’s hilarious stage version of her own book, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids--probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won't believe the mayhem - and the fun - when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on! Come watch both of these fantastic tales play out live on stage, which will take place at the Dr. Daniel B. Ross Performing Arts Center at Avon Lake High School (175 Avon Belden Rd. Avon Lake, OH 44012) Performance Dates: Thursday, November 30th - Saturday, December 2nd @7pm and Sunday, December 3rd @2pm https://www.eventbrite.com/o/avon-lake-high-school-11089550241
