JUNE 10 - JULY 8, Wednesday evenings Los Angeles-based film/TV director and Lorain native JOHN BAUMGARTNER -- JohnBaumgartner.com -- teaches his L.A. 5 week SCENE STUDY CLASS for a small group of professional or aspiring theater and film actors. Baumgartner’s work includes the critically-acclaimed feature “Hard Pill,” which The Plain Dealer graded “A,” and which was acquired by the Weinstein company; as well as work for the SyFy Channel, Funny or Die, and MTV's Logo Network. Through hands-on scene work in a fun, relaxed, and encouraging atmosphere, techniques covered include On-Set Etiquette and Procedure; determining a scene's Emotional Event; defining Before and After; Animating Subtext through strong Back Stories & Intentions; discovering Organic Blocking; utilizing Opposites; Dynamic Choices for Auditions; Loving the Process as much as the Result; and more. $15 per class session, limited class space by design.
