Stow Players presents a staged reading of “We Call it Family” by local playwright Laura Barbieri on Saturday November 8 at 7:30pm. The performance will take place at the regular performance venue of Stow Players, The Heritage Barn, which is located at 5238 Young Road, Stow, OH 44224 in Silver Springs Park. This play is based on a series of interviews conducted by the playwright in the Fall of 2022 in Michigan. This is an eye opening, heartfelt, and realistic look at the current state of foster care and adoption, exploring both its joys and struggles. Serious topics of abusive and trauma are covered in this performance and it is not suitable for children. Names and certain identifying facts have been changed to protect the identities of the interviewees and the described individuals, but the words and sentiments expressed have not been altered.
