God of Carnage opens this week at Stow Players
Stow Players kicks off its 71st year of local community theater with the award winning “God of Carnage,” a comedy by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton. Produced in Stow’s Heritage Barn in Silver Springs Park, the show runs from November 15-24
Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play and Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy, “God of Carnage” is an explosive comedy that’s all fun and games until the grownups start acting like children. It’s the story of two married couples who meet shortly after their sons have had a nasty schoolyard tangle. The parents meet up to have a civil conversation about the misdemeanors of their children in a calm and rational way. And then the rum comes out – what could possibly go wrong?
The Stow Players production is under the direction of Arunie Lopez, a British actress from London. She is a well-established performer in NE Ohio, and is happily breaking into directing with “God of Carnage.” Stow Players supports up-and-coming local community theater directors and is pleased to have Lopez at the helm of the first show of the production season. The cast includes Bella Casterline, Dan Sekanic, Justin Edenhofer, and Lauren Koleszar.
Show dates include November 15, 16, 22, & 23 at 7:30 pm; November 17 & 24 are Sunday matinees at 2:30 pm. All Stow Players productions are in Heritage Barn, 5238 Young Rd. Tickets are $18/adults; $14/students. Purchase tickets online at
