[NEOhioPAL]AUDITIONS FOR "THE KING AND I" AT THE PLAYERS GUILD THEATRE

Auditions will be held for THE KING and I, the popular Rodgers and 
Hammerstein musical that will open The Players Guild Theatre's 70th 
Anniversary Season.

Auditions will be held at The Players Guild Theatre, 1001 Market Avenue 
North in Canton.  Please call us at 330-453-7619 if you are need directions 
or have questions concerning auditions.

Adult auditions
Saturday, July 28 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
Sunday , July 29 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

Auditioners should be prepared to sing at least one song, bring sheet 
music, an accompanist will be provided.

Director Bil Pfuderer would like to audition as many Asian performers as 
possible. The Players Guild Theatre has a nondiscriminatory casting policy. 
Adult Principal roles available are:

Anna Leonowens.....soprano
King Mongkut...........baritone
Lun Tha...................lyric baritone/tenor
Tuptim......................soprano
Lady Thiang.............contralto

All other roles must sing, and act..some dancing may be required. Rehear  
sals will begin on Saturday, August 4th at 10:00 a.m. Performance dates 
will be September 13 through September 30, 2001

Auditions for children, boys and girls
Monday, July 30 from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. / Ages 5-12

Children should bring music and be prepared to sing one song. Principal 
Children's roles will be:
Louis Leonowens..........................10-12 yrs old
Crown Prince Chululongkorn..........10-12 yrs old
Princess Yin Yaowlak.....................6 - 8 yrs old

There will be a total of 12 children cast.
