CLEVELAND PUBLIC THEATRE HOLDS AUDITIONS FOR
HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH

Cleveland, OH – Cleveland Public Theatre is holding auditions for Hedwig
And The Angry Inch by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask and
directed by Lester Shane. Auditions will be held on Sunday August 19,
2001 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cleveland Public Theatre, 6415
Detroit Avenue. Please come prepared with a rock song and a contemporary
monologue for the audition.  For more information and to schedule an
audition time, call Jeff Syroney at 216.631.2727 ext. 203.Hedwig and the
Angry Inch opens December 5 and runs through December 31, 2001.
Rehearsals begin October 29.

Roles offered:
Hedwig/Tommy Gnosis – Internationally ignored German Rock and Roll
goddess who happens to be the victim of a gruesomely botched sex change
operation. Must have a commanding stage presence and be able to handle a
wide range of styles. This part will be played by a male.

Yitzhak – a sullen male roadie.  This part will be played by a female.
Must be a strong rock singer.
