Hi all from Linda Eisenstein, passing on some tri-coastal theatre news =
for a busy fall week: =20

    - North (on Lake Michigan): At Chicago's Heartland Studio Theatre, =
my comic-poetic one-act RUNNING FROM THE RED GIRL -- a woman's visit to =
her shamanic therapist about her persistent anger -- is being produced =
by the Stockyards Theatre Project. It opens Thursday Sept. 6 and runs =
Thursdays-Sundays thru Sept. 30.  I'll be attending a performance during =
the weekend of Sept. 28. =20

    - West: My monologue play F2F is being presented on Sat. Sept. 8 at =
the International Center for Women Playwrights Regional Conference in =
Portland, OR. F2F recounts the seriocomic surprises that occur when 2 =
female cyberpals meet for the first time -- appropriate, for a =
conference of women from a Internet-based organization. I'll also be =
speaking on a panel, "The Playwright and the Dramaturg", on Friday =
morning 9/7 at 10:30 a.m. The conference panels are at Portland State =
U., the performances at the Portland Center for the Arts' the =
Winningstad Theatre. =20

    - East: Also on Sept. 8, my 10-minute play HEART SMART is getting a =
reading at the Manhattan Theatre Source as part of its Estrogenius =
Festival. The play -- the collision between a stricken executive's =
50-something wife and 20-something mistress at his hospital bedside -- =
also had several readings in July at Seattle's Mae West Fest. More info =
at www.estrogenius.org.  =20

I had two other recent happy pieces of news:=20

    - My play THREE THE HARD WAY (3 unconventional sisters dealing with =
their gambler father's death), which had a wonderful production last =
summer by SNAP! Productions, was voted "Outstanding New Script" of the =
2000-2001 theatre season by Omaha's Theatre Arts Guild.=20

    - And my large cast full-length play, REHEARSING CYRANO -- about the =
complications that occur when students at a women's college decide to =
mount a cross-gender version of Rostand's classic --  was named 1 of 3 =
finalists (out of nearly 200 entrants) for the Jane Chambers Play =
Competition. =20

As always, I'd be happy to send scripts -- either email or post -- to =
anyone who'd like perusal copies. Synopses, photos, reviews, and more =
on my web page, below. =20

Cheers,
Linda=20
