JCC Youth Theatre Holds Auditions For Fiddler on the Roof Jr.

Playmakers Youth Theatre at the Jewish Community Center will be holding
auditions for its musical production of Fiddler on the Roof, Jr., book by
Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and directed
by Sheri Gross. Audition date is Sunday, October 14 from 6:30pm -7:30pm for
grades 2-5, and 7:45pm-9:00pm for grades 6-9 at the Mayfield JCC, 3505
Mayfield Rd, Cleveland Heights.  Roles are open for actors in 2nd grade-9th
grade.  Be prepared to sing an uptempo song and a ballad (an accompanist
will be provided), and be prepared to dance and read from the script.
Rehearsals are Monday -Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.  The show
runs Thursday, December 6 through Sunday, December 16.

Description:  In the village of Anatevka, Tevye tries to instill in his
daughters a sense of Jewish tradition in the face of changing times.  The
story's universal themes cut across barriers of race and religion touching
audiences throughout the world.

Fiddler on the Roof is based on Sholom Aleichem stories by special
permission of Arnold Perl.
