<P class=MsoNormal style="LINE-HEIGHT: 200%"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt">     Written by Moliere and directed by Terry Burgler, this timeless comedy explores human nature and social morals.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Outraged by the vain and dishonest flattery of his fellow man, Alceste promises to speak only the truth, no matter how harsh or whom it offends.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>His friend, Philinte, counsels him to temper his rashness and that no good can come of Alceste’s new pledge.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Alceste’s one weakness in his endeavor to speak the truth is his love for the widow, Celimene.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Celimene is a woman with a malicious tongue, who embodies all of the traits Alceste detests.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Yet, Alceste loves her despite the flaws he sees.<I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal"><SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN></I>Discover if Philinte’s prediction will come true or if Alceste’s ideals will triumph in <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">The Misanthrope, </I>running October 5 – 14.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN><I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">The Misanthrope </I>will be presented in Wright-Curtis Theatre in the Music & Speech Building on the Main Kent State University campus.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Performances are Tuesdays – Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2:30 PM.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN></SPAN></P>
