Announces Cast for DRACULA

    (October 3, 2001, Akron, Ohio...For Immediate Release) Weathervane=20
Playhouse guarantees thrills and chills in it's next production, the=20
Balderston/Deane version of Bram Stoker's DRACULA.  The play can be seen on=20
the Weathervane stage from Wednesday, October 17 through Sunday, November 3,=
=20
2001.  (Official opening is Friday, October 19, 2001.)  Two low-cost preview=
=20
performances are on sale for Wednesday and Thursday, October 17 & 18.
This production is directed by Dr. Penelope A. Frese (Hudson) who directed=20
last season's Of Mice and Men and is SPONSORED BY BUCKINGHAM, DOOLITTLE &=20
BURROUGHS.  Frese is a free-lance director whose production of Conversations=
=20
With My Father at Weathervane won the Chanticleer for Best Production in=20
1996.  She returned to direct The Diary of Anne Frank and Tartuffe on our=20
stage and has also directed productions at Coach House Theatre, Kent State=20
University and Hiram College.  She is the past director of ACTOR, a junior=20
high touring company located in Hudson and she has appeared on stage in=20
productions at Weathervane, Stan Hywet, Cleveland Public Theatre and in a CB=
S=20
pilot, True Detective.  In her "other life," Penny manages her husband's=20
lecture schedule, and often joins him, speaking both nationally and=20
internationally on behalf of children and families with serious mental=20
illness.  She is the producer of an award-winning video on childhood=20
depression, Claire's Story.

Kyle R. Hudson  Dracula Canton
Kyle is a third-year student at Malone College where he was seen in A=20
Midsummer Night's Dream. =20

Jerry Schaber   Van Helsing Akron/Fairlawn
Jerry was seen at Weathervane in Oliver! as Bill Sykes.  He also appeared=20
locally at Stow Players in their production of Key for Two last year.  He ha=
s=20
truly had an extensive "career" as a volunteer actor and has been seen in=20
many productions at the Five Pfennig Playhouse in Germany.  Dracula marks hi=
s=20
50th production.

Mark D. Stoffer Dr. Seward  Akron
This is Mark's first Weathervane production.  He has been very active at the=
=20
North Canton Playhouse in shows including All My Sons, The Nerd and The Soun=
d=20
of Music.

Joe is a computer engineer with Keithley Instuments and holds a Bachelors=20
Degree in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.  He was=

seen on the Weathervane stage in last season's production of Gross Indecency=

The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde.

Colin J. Cook   Harker  Akron
Colin was seen last season as Lord Alfred Douglas in Weathervane's productio=
n=20
of Gross Indecency=E2=80=A6.  He has built some of his theatrical experience=
 with=20
Dobama in Cleveland Heights, where he was seen in The Trestle at Pope Lick=20
Creek as Dalton Chance.  He has also performed in several productions with=20
Actors' Summit Theatre.

Kara B. Workman Maid    Cleveland Heights
Kara holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from John Carroll=20
University and is a Marketing Specialist for KeyBank.  She lists credits fro=
m=20
John Carroll University, Greenbrier Theater, Huntington Playhouse, Magical=20
Theatre Company and Mystery Caf=C3=A9.

Jessica D. Pizer    Lucy    Copley
Jessica attended Miami University and is currently a student at Rigg's Lemar=
=20
Beauty College.  She participated in Weathervane's Youth Production of The=20
Legend of Sleepy Hollow and, more recently,  was seen as Mayella Ewell in=20
Weathervane's production of To Kill A Mockingbird. =20

Scott Shriner   Attendant   Akron
Scott was seen most recently as one of the three Proteans in Weathervane's=20
production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum this past=20
summer.  Formerly editor of The Twinsburg Bulletin, Scott was promoted to th=
e=20
position of Associate Editor of the weekly division of Record Publishing=20
Company.  He received a Royal Coach Award for best supporting actor in Sunda=
y=20
in New York at Coach House Theatre.
