"Done to Death"- a measure of Miss Marple, a helping of Sam Spade, a
dash of James Bond and a topping of Nick and Nora Charles are combined in the
Solon High School Drama Club's murderously funny fall play. The result is a
feast full of twists, turns, and familiar faces which will keep you laughing
and leave you guessing "whodunit" right up to the final curtain. In Fred
Carmichael's mystery-comedy, five authors are gathered by a television
executive and encouraged to collaborate on the ultimate mystery series. The
authors anticipate the surrounding publicity will resurrect their fading
careers. But "reality TV" takes on a whole new meaning when the television
executive turns up dead and the authors try their hands at solving a real
mystery. Performers include seniors DOREEN SALKIEWICZ, RYAN MERHOLZ, AMY
LINDEN, CLIFF KARKLIN, and sophomore ADAM COHEN as the five authors, junior
JILLIAN WEINBERGER as the television executive, and senior JAMES BOTROS and
junior AMANDA KELLER as the mysterious servants. Seniors KIRSTEN BROWN, ABBY
LISTON, and JASON MALAFARINA; juniors JESSICA DANIEL, LEAH JOSEPH, BRIAN
SCHULTEK, and JON SCOTT; sophomores DENISE BOBIK, MORGAN DANILOFF, NICCO
MANNARINO, and IAN YOUNG; freshmen TIM SOROOSH and ROBYN LINDEN round out the
supporting cast. Senior SCOTT MALAFARINA will stage manage, sophomore JAKE
HOFFMAN is his assistant.
Two local television personalities will make special guest appearances in the
show. On Friday night, Newschannel Five reporter Adam Shapiro will join the
cast. On Sunday afternoon, Newschannel Five reporter Chris Caswell will
appear. The production is directed by Kristina J. Ferencie and designed by
her brother Joseph M. Ferencie. The Ferencies have coordinated the technical
needs of the Drama Club for 11 years, and this year have taken over as
CO-advisors to the club. Kristina Ferencie is an AEA Stage Manager and
Resident Stage Manager at the Halle. Joseph Ferencie is the lead of technical
services at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure.
