Weathervane Playhouse Announces
OPEN CALL Auditions for August Wilson's
SEVEN GUITARS

    (Akron, Ohio, November 20, 2001, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE...)  Weathervane 
Playhouse will hold OPEN CALL AUDITIONS for August Wilson's SEVEN GUITARS, a 
piece of Wilson's cycle of plays celebrating the African-American experience. 
 Auditions will be held at Weathervane Playhouse (1301 Weathervane Lane, 
Akron, In the Valley off Merriman Road) on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 18 
& 19, 2001 promptly at 7 p.m..  Callbacks will be announced if necessary.
Cast requirements:  4 African-American men ages 25 - 50
            3 African-American women ages 25 - 45
Prepare:    Be familiar with the script.  Scripts are available at 
Weathervane to read in the lobby only.  Audition scenes will also be 
available.

Director for the production of Seven Guitars is John Fagan.  Fagan directed 
Weathervane's production of The Odd Couple, Female Version in 2000. He 
recently directed Voir Dire and As Bees in Honey Drown in Greenville, SC.

All roles are available.  Weathervane Playhouse is committed to 
non-traditional casting.  Except in cases where race, gender, age or 
disability is essential to the play, all roles will be cast on the basis of 
talent.  Weathervane Playhouse is a community theater.  All performers in all
