About Contemporary Jewish Voices
Larry Nehring, local actor and director, will host an insightful discussion
of contemporary Jewish plays with actors presenting scenes from the
Playwriting competition finalists: Rowing to Canaan by Wayne Liebman, Czar
of Nothingness by Stuart Warmflash, Seed of Abraham by Lois Meltzer, and
Things Known and Unknown by Michael Wolfson. The discussion will take place
on Thursday, December 13 at 7:30 PM at the Mayfield JCC.

About Visions of Right by Marcia Cebulska
Visions of Right concerns a photographer's confrontation with a religious
leader who preaches hate and demonstrates against gays, Jews and artists.
The play is moving, provocative, and surprisingly funny. The staged reading
is directed by local actor and director Charles Kartali, and it will be
performed on Saturday, December 15 at 8:30 PM. Playwright Marcia Cebulska
will engage the audience in a post-show discussion.

About Playwright Marcia Cebulska
Marcia Cebulska has had 19 plays produced in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago
and Indianapolis. Her scripts have been chosen for development at the
Eugene O'Neill Center, Sundance Playwrights Lab, and the Shenandoah
Playwrights Retreat. She has been the recipient of numerous fellowships and
grants including the Jane Chambers International Award and the 2001 Kansas
Arts Commission in Playwriting.

About Cherry Docs by David Gow
When a neo-nazi skinhead is charged with murder and a Jewish attorney is
assigned to defend him, both men must confront their own prejudices. The
stark drama is an unblinking examination of the explosive effects of hatred.
Very strong language and themes - for mature audiences only. A staged
reading of the play, directed by Reuben Silver, starring Joel Hammer and
Scott Plate, will be on Sunday, December 16 at 7:00 PM in the Halle Theatre
at the Mayfield JCC.

Following Cherry Docs, Jeff Grover will facilitate a post-show panel
discussion with attorneys Kenneth Bravo, Partner at Ulmer & Berne LLP and
Joshua Cohen, Principal at Gary, Naegele & Theado, on the hurdles
confronting society as individuals and organizations attempt to eradicate
hatred. The discussion is co-sponsored with the American Jewish Committee
and Cleveland Hillel.
