							Charenton Theater Co. to Open
New Theater at Playhouse Square Center

Charenton Theater Co., a relatively new production
company – founded in 1999 by James Mango and Melissa
Tilk, will be opening a new 80 seat black box theater
in the Bulkley building between the Ohio and Allen
Theaters.

The new performance space will be called Studio 210
and is located on the 2nd floor of the Bulkley
building adjacent to the Playhouse Square Center
offices.

Charenton has established itself as a significant
player in the developing theater scene over the last
several years. Their work has included critically
acclaimed productions of Waiting for Godot, Look Back
in Anger, American Buffalo, and most recently ‘The
Park Bench Tour,’ their outdoor touring production of
Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story which visited a variety
of parks and other unique outdoor locations over the
summer.

Studio 210 will be opened by an All-Star production
of Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker, which will be
directed by Co-Founder and Artistic Director James
Mango. The three-man cast includes some of
Cleveland’s most talented and respected actors: Reuben
Silver, Allan Byrne, and Kirk Brown.

Charenton will bring an intimate, artistically driven
style of theater to Playhouse Square. Focusing on
bringing Northeastern Ohio’s professional talent to
the forefront we will give life to the great plays of
the last 100 years that are rarely seen outside of
academic circles. . . and now we’ll do it in the heart
of Cleveland Theater.
