Hypathia is the epic story of the last keeper of the ancient library of =
Alexandria. Established circa 300 B.C.E., the library was the leading =
research and learning center of the ancient world. Dedicated to the =
Seven Muses - a museum. Scholars from all over studied and taught there, =
names familiar to us even now. It was the leading center for astronomy, =
mathematics, medicine and philosophy. The library suffered from =
invasions and neglect then was completely destroyed by Muslim invaders =
around 640 C.E. Hypathia was a strong, educated and powerful woman in a =
time where men held all influence and status. Her strength and wisdom =
earned the love of Orestes...Roman Governor, but the also brought about =
the wrath of Cyril, the archbishop of Alexandria. Will Cyril silence =
Hypathia and her school of thought forever? Come and see! This is an =
