Godspell's Second Coming
Once again, Workshop Players Theatre-in-the-Round presents Godspell, a
musical based on the gospel of St. Matthew, conceived by John-Michael
Tebelak, music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Simply put, this musical is a
modern musical retelling of the story of Christ and his parables. Godspell's
simplicity and childlike exuberance comes across as a fresh story, freshly
told in songs, dances and comedic highlights. Director Dave MacKeigan has
assembled a cast composed of several Workshop regulars and lots of newcomers.
The cast:Tom Castro, Marc Parker, Judy MacKeigan, Kristen Jones, Lisa Marie
Eckenrode, Jarred Nichols, John Turner and Liesel Stevens. Rob Schneider is
the musical director.Performances are March 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 & 23 at 8:00
and March 17 & 24 at 3:00. Tickets are $8.50 each and may be reserved by
calling the box office at 440-988-5613. Group rates are available for groups
of 10 or more.Workshop Players Theatre is located on Middle Ridge Road in
Amherst, halfway between Rt. 2 and Rt. 58.Workshop first presented the show
in 1984.
