COME JOIN THE...
PARADE
at The Beck Center

AUDITIONS
(Aea and Non-AEA will be seen)

When~~ Monday, June 3rd at 7PM
                 Tuesday, June 4th at 7PM
and Wednesday, June 5th at 7PM

Performances~~"Parade" opens on September 13th and closes October 6th
Rehearsals~~Begin appoximately August 1st

Roles~~"Parade" features a cast of 30! Beck Center is seeking outstanding
vocalists and actors. While there is some dance, proficiency as a dancer is
not a requirement. All roles are required to sing. There are excellent roles
for both men and women, age range 18 to 70. The vocal ensemble work is some
of the most challenging in "Parade", as well. Some special require-ments of
"Parade" include MEN in their 40's, 6 African-American actor/singers and 4
girls who can realistically play 13 to 15 year olds.

About The Show~~"Parade" was created by 3 amazing artists, 2 of which are
theatrical mainstays; Book Writer Alfred Uhry ("Driving Miss Daisy)") and
directorial legend, Hal Prince. The third is an amazing newcomer who will no
doubt be a musical force to be reckoned with for years to come:composer
and lyricist Jason Robert Brown. "Parade" recounts the story behind the
historical murder trial surrounding the death of Mary Phagan. This story
gained international attention in 1913 Atlanta as pencil factory manager Leo
Frank was falsely accused of the crime. The musical takes a dynamic look at
native Brooklynite Frank's displacement as he is an outsider in the land of
cotton. Brown's score is one of the most amazing in years, and the story is
gripping from beginning to end.
