OCTA Selects Three Theatres to Represent NorthEast Region at State =
Showcase
June 6, 2002, Hudson, Ohio - The NorthEast region of the Ohio Community =
Theatre Association (OCTA) selected excerpts from three area theatres to =
represent the region at OCTA's state-wide festival to be held over labor =
day weekend. The shows were selected this past weekend (June 15 & 16) at =
the 2002 NorthEast regional theatre festival held in Hudson at the =
Barlow Community Center and hosted by The Hudson Players.=20
The shows and their theaters honored with an invitation to the state =
conference included Belles by the Hudson Players, The Miracle Worker by =
Wayne Co. Performing Arts Center and Mama's Veil (an original script) by =
Workshop Players. Camping With Henry and Tom by Elyria Summer Theatre =
Association was also selected as an alternate.=20
"We were very honored to be selected," said Tim Steiner, Hudson Players =
president. "The quality of the theatre presented was amazingly high and =
we were impressed by all the theatres who attended. I'm sure it was =
incredibly hard to select only three shows and an alternate from all who =
were involved."
In addition to honoring the three shows with an invitation to state, a =
variety of individual recognitions were presented to those who =
participated. All received a certificate of participation while the =
