DOBAMA announces its 2002-2003 season
Six OHIO premiere productions

Dobama Theatre at 1846 Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights will present six mainstage productions for its 43rd season – all of which address "family" in its many forms with characters on the outside looking into a different world because of barriers of economy, class, culture, etc. – from the seemingly prophetic language of Tony Kushner to the zany, absurdness of Nicky Silver.

HOMEBODY/KABUL
By Tony Kushner, Directed by Joel Hammer and featuring Nan Wray as "Homebody"
September 13-October 5
"We are extremely privileged to be only the fourth theater in the nation and the first in the Midwest to present HOMEBODY, a socially and politically charged play that couldn’t be more 'to the moment' in this current climate of distrust and fear," says Casey. In 1993, Kushner won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for ANGELS IN AMERICA: MILLENIUM APPROACHES, which Dobama produced in 1998, and his most recent play (completed before September 11) takes the audience into the culture of Afghanistan to ask questions that don’t have answers. "An eerily prescient play…blazes with an intensity that defines Kushner’s best work." AP
