CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM OPENS NEW THEATRE IN TREMONT WITH QUILLS,
AUGUST 9 - 31
convergence-continuum, a new, professional, non-equity theatre company, =
will open its new theatre, the Liminis, in Cleveland's popular Tremont =
neighborhood at 2438 Scranton Road, on August 9. Company co-founders =
Clyde Simon (Artistic Director) and Brian Breth (Executive Director) =
purchased the store-front location, originally built as a tavern in =
1911, two years ago. Since then they have been busy transforming it =
into an intimate, well-equipped, 40-60 seat performance space to serve =
as the artistic home of convergence-continuum. =20

The company aims to produce plays which take risks and confront =
conventions -- plays that raise challenging questions in novel, =
surprising, and even outrageous, ways. In staging plays at the Liminis =
in an up-close-and-personal style, convergence-continuum seeks to =
immerse its audiences in experiences that fully engage their senses and =
imaginations. =20

Such a piece is convergence-continuum's first production, the recent =
dark comedy, QUILLS, by Doug Wright. QUILLS follows the harrowing =
conflict between a compassionate priest, (played by Brian Breth), and =
his institutionalized ward the Marquis de Sade (Clyde Simon). The cast =
also features Denise Astorino, Cliff Bailey, Amy Bistok, Laura Meilcarek =
and Josh Spencer. Company member Steve Needham directs.

QUILLS opens August 9 and will run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at =
8:00 pm through August 31. Admission is $12 general, and $9 for =
students. Seating for this production will be limited to 40. FOR =
RESERVATIONS AND INFORMATION CALL 216-687-0074.
