ABOUT THE PLAY
        This smash-hit Jerry Herman musical is bounding with energy and 
appeal. Based on the French film by Jean Poiret, La Cage aux Folles tells the 
stories of two middle-aged gay lovers who run a transvestite nightclub in St. 
Tropez, and their son who has announced his intentions to marry the daughter 
of a local morals crusader. The show, which was the basis for the popular 
movie "The Birdcage," was the biggest new American musical of the 1980s, with 
an original Broadway run of 1,761 performances.

AUDITIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT

starting Tuesday, October 1, 2002

AUDITION PREPARATION
Please prepare one short song; bring sheet music; an accompanist will be 
provided. Also, please prepare one short monologue OR you can read a 
monologue that will be provided to you at the audition. Together the song and 
monologue should not exceed four minutes.  

After your appointment for the vocal and acting audition you will need to be 
available for a dance audition later in the evening. Please dress 
appropriately for movement.

AUDITION DATES & TIMES
Monday, November 4, 2002    7:00pm -- 10:00pm
Wednesday, November 6, 2002    7:00pm -- 10:00pm
The appointments for singing and acting 
will take place from 7:00 - 9:00pm.
The dance audition will take place from  9:00pm - 10:00pm.

CALLBACKS
if necessary, will take place at 7:00pm
Monday, November 11 or Wednesday, November 13.

REHEARSAL & PRODUCTION DATES: 
Rehearsals begin in mid-February, 2003.

mid-twenties; ingenue, spunky; a superb dancer who acts well
Edouard Dindon - Anne's father, forties to fifties, right-wing radical 
politician, pompous, quirky; must sing, move well, and be a strong comic

sexually repressed and sex-starved, good singer and actress who moves well;
