For Immediate Release
Workshop Players presents the second production of the season, She Loves Me,
written by Joe Masteroff, with music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon
Harnick. Secret pen pals blossom into a love affair in this charming musical
based on the Jimmy Stewart film The Shop Around the Corner. With a small cast
of winsome eccentrics aiding and abetting the love-stricken couple, She Loves
Me is sure to provide an entertaining evening of theater.
Two feuding clerks (Beth Van Horn and David Erdei) in a European parfumerie
during the 1930s secretly find solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals,
little knowing their respective correspondents are none other than each
other. A romantic comedy with endearing innocence and a touching nostalgia,
this was also the basis for the movie You've Got Mail.
Directed by David Erdei, with Musical Director Bev Sperry, She Loves Me also
features Mike Majer, Judy MacKeigan, Carrie Bragg, April Harker, Charlotte
Norris, Jim Heath, Greg Dziama, Tom Weston, Ron Crum and Paul Molesky. Teresa
Jenkins is co-director.
Production dates are November 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 & 23 at 8 p.m. There will
also be Sunday matinees on November 17 & 24 at 3:00. Tickets are $10.00 each
and may be reserved by calling the box office at 440-988-5613.
Workshop Players Theatre is located at 44820 Middle Ridge Road in Amherst.
