What is a Harold?

A "Harold" is a long form improv structure created by improv deity Del Close=
=20
(1934-1999). The structure is simple. It is a revolving series of monologues=
,=20
scenes and games inspired and driven by ONE single audience suggestion. The=20
format may be simplistic; however the actual structure is considered one of=20
the more difficult to perform. There are at least 6 to 10 people involved an=
d=20
the time it takes to perform a Harold can vary from 20 to 35 minutes.=20

HFI has taken this basic structure and molded its own version of a Harold.=20
Currently there is no place in Cleveland to learn the basics of this long=20
form improv structure, but if you ever go to Chicago, you can take 5 levels=20
of classes at the Improv Olympic. The Harold is still taught by one of its=20
original creators, Charna Halpern.=0C
