OHIO PREMIERE OF AWARD-WINNING FILMS WITH PANEL AND RECEPTION
Sponsored by Bartha Visual, Inc. and Shaker Square Cinemas

For Immediate Release: November 2, 2002

Contact: Annetta Marion or Bernadette Gillota, Co-Artistic and
Executive Directors of Independent Pictures, (216) 651-7315

Cleveland, Ohio-ZELIMO, an award-winning festival favorite, will make
its Ohio premiere at 7p this Monday November 4 at the 2002 Ohio
Independent Film Festival at Shaker Square Cinemas, 13116 Shaker
Boulevard (admission $10) as part of a Premiere Presentation-a
screening of the feature film ZELIMO and pre-feature short IMPROBABLE
PAIRS, panel discussion with Dr. Alan S. Rosenbaum (Department of
Philosophy, Cleveland State University), Dr. Mikhail Lyubansky
(Department of Psychology, Kenyon College), Dr. Samuel A. Richmond
(Department of Philosophy, Cleveland State University), and reception.

In the visually beautiful and lyrical feature film, Zelimo is a young
boy who escapes anti-Semitic Russia only to be baited as a commie spy
by kids at an orthodox Jewish camp in New York. Zelimo is befriended
by Hector, a Cuban Jew and codeine junkie, who exposes the boy to a
totally different world. The pre-feature short IMPROBABLE PAIRS is
about pairs of people who have made peace with each other against
truly extraordinary odds, notably a Palestinian father and an Israeli
father who have both lost sons.
