Dear Arts and Theatre Lovers,

Tonight at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2592 West 14th Street, in Tremont,
Lysistrata will be staged (and at two other locations, locally), beginning at
8:00 p.m. There is a story in today's PD Arts section on page C-5 about this
internationally- and simultaneously-staged 2600 year-old play by author
Aristophanes.

Known to be the first anti-war drama, this ancient Greek comedy has the women
witholding their pleasures until the men put down their weapons. There are
over 1000 places in about 60 countries where this play will be dramatized.
Even as we speak, the play is underway in countries to the east of us, as a
planet-wide response to impending war in Irag. With the power of the
Internet, this idea has taken flight. Go to www.lysistrataproject.com to see
what it's all about.

Drumplay is proud to be the lead-in to tonight's play at the Pilgrim Church.

Doors will open at 7:00 p.m.; and we will get underway around 7:30 p.m.
Admission is free. We will be accompanied by Cuyahoga County poet laureate,
Daniel Thompson.

As we have mention in this egroup, Daniel has been threatening to move to
Arizona all winter; and the moment is upon us. Daniel will be leaving
Cleveland on March 8. So this is your last chance to say goodbye and wish
him well.

As Daniel flies overhead, Drumplay will be embarking on a publicity tour of
Route 66, beginning later this month (when I get my car fixed). Starting in
Chicago, we will make our way down to the Southwest, joining Daniel as we
find him lounging, poolside. There, we will make ourselves known to whomever
will listen; and hit a few radio stations along the way. I suspect Daniel
will be back sooner than you can say: "Famous in the Neighborhood".

Hope to see you tonight at Pilgrim Church in Tremont. This is part of the
Artists Against War effort. For more information, please consult the
above-mentioned website, or today's Cleveland Plain Dealer, page C-5. Peace,
No War.

James Onysko
