Streetsboro Community Theatre Announces Summer Youth Production Auditions


Honk!  A celebration of being different!  Authors George Stiles and Anthony
Drewe has turned this fairy tale into a surprisingly sophisticated comedy
that never stops entertaining us even as it spins out valuable reminders on
the importance of acceptance.

Honk! A musical comedy based on Hans Christian Anderson=B9s =B3The Ugly
Duckling=B2 will be coming to SCT=B9s stage this summer.  Critics have called i=
t
=B3clever, rousing, witty, marvelously funny, frequently touching, and
constantly magical=B2. At the 2000 Laurence Olivier Awards in London (our
equivalent of the Tony Awards) this show was named =B3Best Musical=B2 over The
Lion King.  =20

 Audition Dates:           Sunday, April 27             Ages 5-12 at 2:00 =AD

Production Dates:  July 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19. 20, 24, 25, and 26,
2003

The directing team includes Crestwood HS Drama teacher, Eddie Judd as the
director; Waterloo HS Drama Advisor, Lisa Pyles as the assistant director;
Hoover HS choir teacher, Kim Jacoby as the musical director and SCT=B9s
Artistic Director Becky Summers as the choreographer.  Sheryl Puette will
stage manage the show with Lyle Hennicke as the production stage manager in
charge of all technical aspects including the flight rigging designed by Ti=
m
Dennison.  Tom Wilschutz will be the producer.

Students should plan 32 bars of an uptempo song and bring a recent photo.
The Streetsboro Community Theatre is located in the Streetsboro Municipal
