Auditions May 4th

ALL AGES – Open Call

The 25th ANNUAL Marilyn Bianchi Kids' Playwriting Festival, to be held June
5-8, 2003 at Dobama Theatre, is holding an open call for actors of all ages
to audition on May 4th for the 25th ANNUAL Marilyn Bianchi Kids’ Fest.
Auditions for kids ages 6 to 14 are from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Auditions
for actors 15 and up will begin at 7 p.m. Actors will be asked to do a cold
reading from a script. Actors must come prepared with a written list of all
scheduling conflicts between May 5th and May 31st.

Actors will need to be available for several rehearsals in May, as well as
all day Sunday, June 1st and Sunday, June 8th, and the evenings of Monday
through Saturday, June 2nd-7th. Additional rehearsal schedules will depend
on the number of plays in which actors are cast.

Dobama Theatre’s Artistic Director Joyce Casey says of the festival, “We are
looking forward to the twenty-fifth year of the Marilyn Bianchi Kids’ Fest.
The festival gives us an opportunity to showcase provocative, inspiring and
highly creative original works by kids in our own community.” Every year,
the Marilyn Bianchi Kids' Playwriting Festival at Dobama Theatre, the oldest
festival of its kind in the United States, accepts play submissions from
kids in grades 1-12.
