CAIN PARK ART GALLERY OPENS
WITH =B3OUT OF THE ASHES=B2
ON JUNE 17

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH - The Audrey and Harvey Feinberg Gallery at Cain Park
opens the visual arts season with =B3Out of the Ashes=B2 featuring the artwork
of Lucette Johnson, Helen Frankovits Libens, Susan Donovan Lowe, and Johann=
a
Page on Tuesday, June 17 closing on July 13. An opening reception will tak=
e
place on Friday, June 20 with refreshments provided by The Stone Oven Baker=
y
& Caf=E9 and Varietals Wine Bar & Caf=E9. The Audrey and Harvey Feinberg
Gallery is located in the Alma Courtyard which is closest to the Lee Road
entrance to Cain Park.

Meeting as returning art students looking for the energizing affects of art
on their lives, the four artists all hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree
from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Inspired by nature, Johnson explores
aesthetic sensibilities through botanical subjects in representational
paintings and drawings leading to impressionistic and experimental freedom.
Libens is concerned with line, energy, and rhythm in her artwork whether it
is presented through a single line, shape, or complexity of many. Using th=
e
journal format to express memories and life experiences, Lowe manifests her
work through wistful shapes and dominant colors. Finally, Page expresses
her observations and experience related to the force of nature through the
multi-layering of shapes, lines, and colors using gestural brush strokes an=
d
collage.

The artists are four of the six artists involved with a local artist
collaborative group called the 40th Street Studio. The studio is located i=
n
a historic shovel manufacturing building at 1588 East 40th Street named The
Shovel Works. The collaborative grew out of a fire which caused the
renovation of their now second floor art studio.

Following the Arts Festival from July 15 through August 17, =B3Complex
Simplicity=B2 opens in the Audrey and Harvey Feinberg Gallery featuring the
work of Ann O=B9Mara Heyward, Marti Heitner, Gunter Schwegler, and Brad
Troxel.=20

The Gallery is open during weekday evening, weekend daytime, and weekend
evening Cain Park events. The Gallery is not open during Kidzart events.
Admission to all Art Gallery events is free. All artwork is for sale.

Cain Park, a municipally owned and operated summer arts park and one of the
nation=B9s oldest, landmark outdoor theaters, is produced by the City of
Cleveland Heights and is located on the south side of Superior Road between
Lee and South Taylor Roads. The Alma Theater is most easily accessible fro=
m
the Lee Road entrance to the park. Parking for all Cain Park productions i=
