The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival is pleased to announce the opening of our
second show for the 2003 season: TWELFTH NIGHT, directed by Seth Gordon and
featuring Robert Hawkes as Malvolio, Bernadette Clemens as Olivia, Kat McIntosh
as Viola, Allen Branstein as Sir Toby, and Jesse James Kamps as Orsino.
TWELFTH NIGHT opens at 7pm on Friday, July 11 at the Shaker Heights Colonnades, and
is the final show being produced for this, our sixth season.
After a shipwreck that claims the life of her brother, a young woman (Viola)
disguises herself as a boy to work for a lovesick Duke Orsino. Unfortunately
the lady he loves (Olivia) falls for this new messenger the resulting love
triangle quickly spirals out of control. Meanwhile, the drunkard Sir Toby and
his comrades lay a trap for the pompous Malvolio to make him the laughing stock
of all Illyria.
