CAIN PARK presents
NASHVILLE MANDOLIN ENSEMBLE
August 14, 2003

(CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH)    A six-man mandolin group that creates the sounds
of an orchestra, Nashville Mandolin Ensemble will be performing in Cain
Park=B9s Evans Amphitheater.  The August 14th show will begin at 8 pm, and
tickets for the show are $15/13/11 in advance, and $18/16/14 the day of the
show.

Mandolin groups became popular around the turn of the last century,
incorporating the sounds of mandolins, mandolas, mandocellos, guitars and
bass.  The Nashville Mandolin Ensemble is the only large professional
touring mandolin group in America, and performs an array of music
encompassing original arrangements from the early 1900=B9s, to more recent
transcriptions of pop, jazz, and Celtic folk songs.  The ensemble was
founded in 1991 by Butch Baldassari, who is currently the Adjunct Associate
Professor of Mandolin at Vanderbilt University=B9s Blair School of Music.
Other members of the ensemble are Steve Dudash on Mandolin and Fiddle,
Walter Carter on Mandola, John Hedgecoth on Mandocello, Van Manakas on
Guitar, and David Spicher on Bass.

The Coventry Magic Bus!, with support from Coventry Village Special
Improvement District, KeyBank, and Severance Town Center, provides FREE
rides to/from Cain Park from 1 hour before the event to 1 hour after the
event ends.  Park in front of KeyBank on the north side of Severance Town
Center or, for those who live near Coventry, walk to the south entrance of
the Coventry Parking Garage (behind Medic Drug) for pick-up.

Cain Park, a municipally owned and operated summer arts park and one of the
nation=B9s oldest landmark outdoor theaters, is produced by the City of
Cleveland Heights and is located on the south side of Superior Road between
Lee and South Taylor Roads.  Parking for all Cain Park productions is free
