WEATHERVANE PLAYHOUSE
Annual Chanticleer Celebration
Karen L. Wood of Creston, OH -- winner of 3 Awards

Weathervane Playhouse volunteers, Board of Trustees, staff members,
subscribers, members and friends celebrated the past 2002-2003 season by honoring those
that participated onstage and backstage. On Saturday, August 16, 2003, they
came with crossed fingers - the dozens of volunteers who performed or handled
technical responsibilities during Weathervane's 68th season. And they shared
the get-together pleasures of cocktails and conversation at the Akron West
Hilton, followed by dinner and the awards proceedings. But then came the
breathless moments when those familiar rooster statues took flight into the hands of
deserving volunteer performers and technical designers. As the evening
unfolded, Karen L. Wood (Creston, OH) became a 3-award winner for the night with
Chanticleers for Featured Actress in a Musical for her roles in "Gypsy," Lead
Actress in a play for her role in "Arsenic and Old Lace" and an award for her 417
volunteer hours which placed her in the Top 10 Volunteers of the season.
