CLEVELAND PUBLIC THEATRE
AND TITLEWAVE THEATRE PRESENT WAIT!

Cleveland, OH - “What are those moments called? The time between the
question and the answer? That wait?” These and other questions are
humorously explored in Julie Jensen’s poignant comedy Wait! Four actors
take on eight roles to tell the tale of Wendy Burger, as she tries to get
through that elusive moment in life when an all too recognizable past butts
up against an unknown future. Wendy deals with change, love, loss, and life
in the theatre in this new play that stretches the boundaries of the stage.

Gregory Vovos directs this co-production from TITLEWave theatre and CPT. UPS
truck driver Wendy Burger (Jen Clifford) searches for her identity as she
gets acting tips from Floating Piñata Head (Meg Chamberlain), spiritual
challenges from the Greeks and the ever-flamboyant Lu (Randy Rollison), and
helps restore an old theatre to its former glory. A small town never seemed
so big especially for a girl with one eye on her alcoholic father and the
other on the striking O Vixen My Vixen (Marni Task) who awakens much more
than her mind. Witness the moment between the question and the answer, the
Wait!

Wait! is the inaugural production from TITLEWave theatre, Cleveland’s newest
professional theatre company. TITTLEWave’s mission is a commitment to
producing quality new plays and creating an environment that allows artists
to take risks, offering the public a unique and challenging look into the
human condition. Wait! marks the first co-production between CPT and
TITLEWave. Their second collaboration will be Charge, written by Eric
Kaiser, to be produced at CPT in February 2004.

Director and TITLEWave artistic director Gregory Vovos brought Charge to CPT
’s Big [Box] series last season, and he also directed Lions Lost in
Translation, a staged reading at CPT’s New Plays Festival. Vovos directed
Charenton Theater’s productions of The Zoo Story and I’m Not Rappaport, as
well as Murder in Mind for Dobama’s Night Kitchen.

Jensen was commissioned by Salt Lake Acting Company to write Wait! She has
written numerous plays and screenplays and taught playwriting on the college
level, most notably directing the graduate playwriting program at the
University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is the recipient of the Award for New
American Plays for White Money, a Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Work
for Lost Vegas Series, and a finalist for American Theatre Critics
Association Award for Last Lists of My Mad Mother.

The Wait! acting company includes Meg Chamberlain, Jen Clifford, Marni Task,
