Filming in DV - October 11th & 12th 
A Course for Digital Filmmakers. - Bill Johns, Instructor (read Bio)
(this course includes a free DVD of Cinevid Shorts including DVD-Rom files for creating Look of Film process on 4 popular Imaging/NLE programs) 

This course is designed to give filmmakers the tools to simply make better movies. Although filmmaking is a very subjective art form, and success at the box office is never guaranteed, there are skill driven steps that can increase the filmmaker's chances of having his or her work taken seriously by both festivals and distributors.

The course will run for two full days* and be divided into the following sessions:


DAY ONE:
1. Choosing a Script
2. Casting the Film
3. Production 

DAY TWO:
4. Editing and Post Production
5. Marketing and Distribution
6. Question and Answer 

IMPORTANT: Each registered attendee is encouraged to submit a short subject screenplay for consideration as the project we will be filming. It should be no more than four minutes in length, set in one, indoor location and have at most four roles. Deadline for submission is October 1st. (the writer of the selected script will recieve a MiniDV Master of their completed film for their portfolio)

*I realize that two days is not enough time to cover, let alone absorb everything that will be discussed and demonstrated. For this reason attendees are encouraged to bring their camcorders and cassette recorders to take visual and audio notes for later review.
