"SPOTLIGHT ON SUCCESS" INAUGURATION AT KSU'S SCHOOL OF THEATRE & DANCE

In celebration of two decades of achievement, the School of Theatre &=20
Dance has created, the =93Spotlight on Success.=94  =93Spotlight on Success=
=94=20
are panel discussions, similar in style to =93Inside the Actor=92s Studio,=
=94=20
that will take place before one performance of each production.  Each=20
panel will have a theme that ties into the production it is partnered=20
with.  Panel members will be School of Theatre & Dance Alumni and=20
Friends, whom are working in various fields of theatre and dance. =20
Panel discussions begin at 6:30 PM and are free and open to the public.=20
=20

The first =93Spotlight on Success=94 will take place on Tuesday, October=20
7th in conjunction with WORKING: A MUSICAL.  "Working With A Theatre=20
Degree" is the topic of the first, =93Spotlight on Success.=94  The panel=
=20
will include Matt Fox (Theatre Alumnus) and Shari Hiller (Kent State=20
Alumna) of HGTV=92s =93Room by Room=94 and will be hosted by School Directo=
r,=20
John R. Crawford.  =93Spotlight on Success=94 will begin at 6:30 PM in E.=
=20
Turner Stump Theatre of the Music & Speech Building on the main Kent=20
State University campus.  The panel discussion will be followed by a=20
wine and cheese reception before the 8 PM curtain of Working: A Musical.

Based on interviews of blue collar workers from Studs Terkel=92s book of=20
the same name, WORKING, is a touching look at the everyday lives of=20
workers from truckers to waitresses to masons to house wives.  Directed=20
by Assistant Professor, Eric van Baars, the everyday lives of these=20
workers are exposed on the Wright-Curtis Stage through rock n=92 roll,=20
country and blues music.  WORKING runs October 3 =96 12, 2003. =20
Performances are Tuesdays =96 Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2:30 PM. =20
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for Seniors, KSU Alumni and KSU=20
Faculty/Staff and $7 for students under 18 or with any valid school ID.=20
 Discounts are available for groups of ten or more.  The School of=20
Theatre & Dance box office opens on September 22, 2003.  Box-office=20
hours are 12 PM =96 5 PM, Mondays =96 Fridays, Saturdays during the run of=
=20
the show from 3 PM - 7 PM and one hour before performance times. =20
Tickets can be purchased by calling 330-672-2497.  The box office=20
accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.  Tickets purchased by phone=20
