JCC Youth Theatre Presents The NERD 

October 9, 2003....Playmakers Youth Theatre at the Jewish Community Center
presents its teen
production of the hysterical comedy, The Nerd, written by Larry Shue,
directed by Michael Simons.  Performances will be Thursday, October 23 at
7:00pm, Saturday, October 25 and November 1 at 8:30pm, Sunday, October 26 at
2:00pm, and Sunday, November 2 at 7:00pm at the Mayfield Jewish Community
Center's Halle Theatre, 3505 Mayfield Rd. Cleveland Hts.  

Tickets are $8 for Adults, $6 for JCC members, seniors and students.

About the Nerd
Willum Cubbert has often told friends about the debt he owes to Rick
Steadman, a fellow ex-GI whom he has never met but who saved his life in
Vietnam---so Willum is delighted when Rick shows up unexpectedly on the
night of his birthday party.  But his delight soon fades as it becomes
apparent that Rick is a hopeless "nerd" with no social sense or tact.  Rick
stays on and on, his continued presence leading to one uproarious incident
after another driving the normally placid Willum to the point of
contemplating violence.  Disaster is diverted by the surprising "twist"
ending of the play!

tears of merriment..."
