Student actors in The Beck Center for the Arts Theater
Conservatory are in final rehearsals for their traveling show The Frog
Prince. This age-old children's tale retold by one of the brightest
playwrights of our day, David Mamet, will be available to community
groups and organizations beginning November 1, 2003 free of charge!
There are four different casts available to perform, the show runs 30
minutes and requires only 12 feet of space.
Directed by Russ Stitch, the plot of The Frog Prince is simple: A
prince is turned into a frog and must find a pure and honest woman to
kiss him of her own free will. This great old tale is given a decidedly
contemporary sensibility that appeals to adults, as well as to children.
The Beck Center has long been committed to offering comprehensive,
curriculum-based programs in the areas of dance, music, theater and
visual arts in a stimulating environment. In keeping with that
tradition, the Beck Theater Conservatory offers an opportunity for
exceptional theater students to increase their level of education and
prepare them for acceptance to the finest colleges and universities in
the country.
