DOBAMA presents the OHIO PREMIERE of
Raised in Captivity
By Nicky Silver
Directed by Russ Borski
January 16 - February 8

Dobama Theatre proudly presents the Ohio premiere of Nicky Silver’s Raised
in Captivity. This off-the-wall comedy is a ball of energy full of twists
and turns. Adding to the absurdity of this comedy is the fact that the
twins in Dobama’s production will be played by real-life twins Tyson and
Tyler Postma.

Sebastian Bliss (Tyson Postma) and his twin sister, Bernadette Dixon (Tyler
Postma), reunite after several years at their mother's funeral, after she
was killed by an errant showerhead. Bernadette can barely stop weeping,
while her brother is merely irritated by her display of emotion. Sebastian
attends therapy sessions with Dr. Hillary MacMahon (Juliette Regnier*, who
also plays Miranda Bliss), and when he announces his intention to leave
therapy, she injures herself over it. Bernadette's husband, Kip (Sean
Derry), decides to give up dentistry and become an artist. Sebastian's only
real contact with people is in the form of letters he writes to a convicted
murderer, Dylan (Jeff Staron, who also plays Roger). Sebastian brings home a
prostitute and ends up with his throat cut. As he lies bleeding, his mother’
s ghost visits him. Mother and son reveal secrets they couldn't tell while
Mother lived.

“Raised in Captivity is about guilt, redemption and self-punishment, and,
against all odds, it is also very funny.” – The New York Times

featuring Sean Derry, Juliette Regnier*, Tyler Postma*, Tyson Postma and
Jeff Staron
