Kent, OH =96  Vincent Dowling, famed actor, director and playwright, will=

speak informally on =93Acting: The Finest of the Fine Arts=94 at Kent State=
=20
University on Saturday, December 13 at 2 p.m. in the Music and Speech=20
Building, on the corner of Horning and E. Main in Kent.  Following his=20
talk, Dowling will take questions from the audience.  The event is free=20
and open to the public.

An internationally known actor, Dowling led Ireland=92s famed Abbey=20
Theater for 23 years and is also a former artistic director of the=20
Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival (now Great Lakes Theater Festival). =20
He won an Emmy for his production and direction of PBS TV=92s =93The=20
Playboy of the Western World." Dowling, who is also a poet, raconteur=20
and author, is responsible for discovering Oscar-winning actor Tom=20
Hanks.
