SUMMARY:    UA TO HOSTSPECIAL PERFORMANCE OF WINESBURG, OHIO

WHAT:      Special performance of Winesburg, Ohio.
WHEN:     2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 11.
WHERE:  Sandefur Theatre in Guzzetta Hall, 157 University Ave., at The
University of Akron.
WHO:       Directed by Theatre Professor James Slowiak, the performance
features student actors from UA.
ETC.:       Tickets for this special performance Ohio are $30, and are full=
y
tax deductible.  Proceeds from the performance
                will be used to support UA=B9s participation in the 36th
annual regional competition for The Kennedy Center
                American College Theater Festival.
                Seating in Sandefur Theatre is limited to 100, and tickets
must be reserved in advance by calling 330-972-7890.
                A dramatic adaptation of the Sherwood Anderson classic,
Winesburg, Ohio is one of six full-length plays chosen for
                performance during the regional festival at Illinois State
University in Normal, Illinois.  Winesburg, Ohio is the
                first production by The University of Akron ever selected
for this prestigious honor.
                A reception will follow the performance.
