evocative memoirs of an elderly African American woman, Shelita has =
never seen, only corresponded with. The book speaks to Shelita and her =
understanding of "the silenced voice", meaning black literary works that =
never saw the light of day because of the author's race. But when she =
seeks out the reclusive author, she is forced to confront her own future =
and a troubling question: Who owns the story of your life?
