Registration is currently under way for Spring Session classes at The Fine
Arts Association, 38660 Mentor Avenue, Willoughby. Classes begin January
26, 2004 and run through June 5, 2004.

Classes are offered for all ages and ability levels in the Visual Arts,
Dance, Theatre and Music. Private lessons in most instruments and voice are
available. Music and Art Therapists are also on staff.

91% of Fine Arts's instructors are degreed with 46% carrying advanced
degrees. Most are artists/instructors.

Well known director Sarah May and playwright Park Goist, former director of
the American Studies Program and a faculty member of the Theater Department
at CWRU join Fine Arts Association's faculty this session.

The following are some of the high school/adult theatre classes being
offered Spring Session:

Playwriting (ages 16-adult) This course, for students of all experience
levels, will explore elements of plays and playwriting through a series of
specific writing exercises. Several plays will be read and discussed as a
way to further enhance the understanding of how a play works. The goal of
the course is for each student to complete either a well-crafted one act
play or part of a longer work. The first session of the class will meet at
Fine Arts Association in the Corning Auditorium. Subsequent sessions will be
held at an offsite location chosen by the members of the class. Instructor
Park Goist is a produced freelance playwright and former Director of the
American Studies Program and faculty member in the Theatre department at
Case Western Reserve University.
