Hathaway Brown School

announces

AUDITIONS for STAGE DOOR by Edna Ferber and George S. Kaufman

Audition dates: Tuesday, Jan. 20th - 4:15 - 6:30 pm
                         Wednesday, Jan. 21st - 6:30-8:00 pm

Black Box Theater, in the Atrium at Hathaway Brown School (use main
entrance on North Park Blvd.)

Roles: 21 Females (all cast with HB high school students)
8 Males - DESPERATELY NEED YOUNG MEN (ages 15-25) to
fill these roles

The story concerns young women who have come to NYC to pursue a career
in the theater. Set in the 1930's, the action takes place in The
Footlights Club, a boarding house for young women in the theater. Humor
mixes with heartbreak as each hopeful experiences the uncertainties of
the business. The play also explores, at its' center, the value of
sticking to one's convictions in the face of failure rather than opting
to 'selling out' for an easier, less passionate existence.

There are two main challenging roles for males--Keith Burgess, who is a
young passionate writer, and David Kingsley, who is a successful
Hollywood producer. Other male roles are those of suitors .
PRODUCTION DATES: Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7:00 pm
                                             Friday and Saturday, Feb.
27 & 28 at 8:00 pm

WE WELCOME YOU ALL. For those of you who are 18 and older, returning to
high school may seem strange and unappealing, but the productions here
are excellent, the students are talented, and the production values are
high. THANK YOU.
